CONTEMPORARY ART ASIA

The journal welcomes submissions to its Articles section from academics, curators, independent critics and postgraduate researchers. Writing on contemporary Asian art in Europe has long been uneven, and has largely come from a single external perspective. The journal exists in part to widen the number of people writing seriously about it. Every submission is read on the strength of its argument rather than on the standing of its author.

Articles should be between 1,500 and 2,500 words. Submissions are read first by the editor and then by a member of the editorial board. Authors are notified of one of three outcomes: acceptance, acceptance subject to revision, or decline, with written reasons in each case. The journal operates editorial review. There is no charge to submit. A publication fee is payable once a piece has been accepted.

The journal encourages submissions from writers for whom English is an additional language. Where the argument and analysis are sound, language alone is not a ground for decline.

Submissions for the first issue should reach the journal by 1 April 2027. Please send the text as a Word document, together with your curriculum vitae, by email. Where images are included, please confirm that permission to reproduce them has been obtained and supply the required credit line.
